county here in the columbus area, when i went out to check out the polls to see how early voting was going, i was stunned by the number of people i saw. the lines were around the building. people waiting in lines for hours. i'm told by the democratic party chair here, anderson, they had 4,000 people in four hours to early vote in montgomery county. and that is causing the republican people here on the ground to try to rethink their strategy to get people to the polls and vote. this is a numbers game and it's all going to come down to the wire. i couldn't believe the number of people i saw, they believe all of those votes. most of those votes today in montgomery county, democratic voters, ander southern. >> let's check in with poppy harlow in des moines. >> reporter: anderson, it is around the clock here, nonstop. we're coming to you live tonight from one of obama's 350 volunteer centers in iowa alone. calling, knocking on doors. they wouldn't give us the number of doors knocked and calls made, they expect to knock on 1.1 million doors here in iowa. romney says, we contacted 2 mil

that columbus area. guest: columbus the state capital is where the ohio state is, that has become the key swing area of the state. it is growing. it has younger voters. it is a fluent. it is in an area that the previous bush's had one. but president obama made it flipped and took it by several percentage points. i think you are seeing a lot of attention in going there. this weekend, president obama will be finishing topping off his ohio campaigning in central ohio. in the past tv of cycles, we have seen the democratic candidate come up in northeast ohio and try to make that pushed. i think he is comfortable with the get out to vote efforts. he ought to go down -- he has to appeal to the swing areas. more independent voters. and you had this educated, affluent group, the base around ohio state university. and that has been critical. in the end, if you show that map, ohio is broken up, we have said it for years into 5 ohios. those five areas, plus some of the border areas, we have about seven media markets. it makes a very expensive to campaign here. in gubernatorial races and some presidential r

they had to vote provisionally. there was a place in columbus. there were 50 people standing in line, 40 of those 50 came out having voted provisionally. you know, people not being on the list when they should have been on when they registered, and so we are really concerned about that. pennsylvania. this campaign of confusion around identification, the aclu won that lawsuit. earlier, i got a tax from someone who went to college with me saying that we are required to ask for identification. she told them i am not showing it to you because i know i do not have to, but that kind of confusion leads to a real kind of question. at the end of the day after the election is close, we are going to be really having to deal with this mess and make sure that we have free, fair, and accessible elections and that we are pushing back on all of these voter suppression efforts that were passed by politicians trying to manipulate the laws for their own game. >> were you surprised by what you have seen? and do you think this is going to determine the outcome of the election? and this issue of voter suppres

is in blue and the solid republican part is in red. >> the central part of ohio, which is columbus, the state capital. that has become the key swing area of the state. is growing and it has younger voters and it is affluent. is an area that the previous busches have one but president obama made a flip and ticket by a couple of percentage points which was key to his victory. you are seeing a lot of attention going there. this weekend, president obama will be finishing topping off his ohio campaigning in central ohio. in the past two cycles, we've seen the democrats coming up east of ohio and make that push. he is comfortable with the get- out-the-vote efforts here. he has to go down and appeal to what is considered the swing area with more independent voters and you have this educated, affluent group, the base hit around ohio state university, and that has been critical. if you show that map, you will see ohio is broken up into five ohio's. it's a very expensive state because of those five areas and some of the border areas. we have about 70 markets and that makes it very expensive to campaign

it on current tv. host: ron from columbus georgia, independent line. caller: good morning. i do agree with your comment about campaign is over, let's govern. but i am a veteran and i've been a company commander and my point is is this, i cannot call my boss and say i cannot get my company commanders to agree on how to accomplish a commission. i won't be a company commander very long. here's the point, the american people are the boss. there should be a law that's presented to congress that says from mr. president on down to congress, if you cannot solve the country's problems you need to go. it's just that simple. americans are sick and tired of the partisan politics and we just don't see the greatest country in the world moving forward the way it's supposed to be. and it's because you've got these guys playing partisan congress. there should not be a republican or democrat, it should be america's party after you're elected to congress. guest: i agree with the principle but we have the means in place if we use it and that's an election. every two years members of the house of represent ives are
